Biomimicry
Organizations

The design and production of materials, structures, and systems that are modelled on biological entities and processes.
The definition of biomimicry.
The toe pads on the underside of gecko feet contain tiny hair-like structures called setae, which stick to surfaces through frictional forces as well as forces between molecules. These tiny structures are so strong that the setae on a single foot can support 20 times the gecko's body weight.

What is biomimicry?
The darkling Beatle which lives in the Namib desert on the south-west coast of Africa. It is a very dry place meaning it is very hard to get water. Luckily this Beatle has an amazing shell which has bumps which can catch water. It can even catch water when it is not raining nor near a lake by catching it in dew, fog and even from its own body sweat.
Imagine what we can gain out of this.

About
We are a group of 3 students that are working hard on this fabulous topic of inquiry, from Prince Alfred College. We hope you enjoy and also learn something exploring our website, while we all hope for good grades.
